I just had my hair done at Antou Salon on Davis St in Evanston. Jarmen did an amazing job with my relaxer and hair cut. She definitely knows how to cut and style African American hair! Even better she uses Aveda products. My hair feels so silky smooth after she uses Aveda color gloss. I feel like a new woman!

Have been to George Saloon 3-4 times
I started going to George Salon one year ago and am very happy with the salon and my stylist. It has been the kind of salon experience I was used to back in Europe. Very busy place. But I tried another (less experienced) stylist once and was disappointed, so be careful in picking a good stylist. The only down side is that it is on the pricey side. Cut and styling costs around $55 with a senior stylsit.

I had an excellent experience at George. I had my haircut by one of the beginners, a guy with curly hair, and he was great! The beginners have a lower price, I paid $35 plus tip (tip must be in cash), and this is one of the best haircuts I've ever had. The atmosphere is that new chic style with the lights dim. He took the time to find out about me and what I wanted and how much time I want to spend on my hair. I am interested in highlighting my hair now and I think I am going to go to them became my first experience with them was great.

Found a true artist and a wax master for life
I have been to many salons getting wax work done. Mario Tricocci, Elizabeth Arden and the like. My experience with them hasn't been the best. Then a friend suggested George Salon in Evanston where she had been going exclusively for the past 5 years to Olga. I finally decided to give it a try and WOW! Fast, wonderful and no pain. My boyfriend loved my new eyebrow style and, my usual dreaded, bikini wax was a breeze. I would definitely recommend this place and Olga.

Great Cuts and Wonderful Personality
I started coming to George Salon in Evanston about a year ago. I moved around from salon to salon and I think I have found a home at this one. I got the best hair cut I have ever had and such an amazing shampoo that I almost fell asleep. There isn't that snotty attitude that some upscale salons have, rather the staff is fun and welcoming. My only complaints are that it is pretty bare in there- not a lot of "style" and that it looks a but unfinished, but I believe they are rather new to the location.

Olga is the best waxer EVER
I wouldn't trust my bikini line with anyone else. I have been to other waxers, and Olga is the best- very quick job with great results. She just raised prices slightly, but at $45 it's still cheaper than most salons in Chicago.

Great Stylist found!
I have been to various hair salons trying to find someone who knows how to cut Asian hair. I have been searched online to find feedbacks. I went to Trio according to the citysearch results, but was very disappointed. I decided to give George Salon a try, since I really want a good haircut bad this morning. I called this morning and got an appointment right away. The receptionist gave me recommendation based on what I told her that I needed. When I got there, Amalia was all ready and told me that she has been thinking about what she could do for me after she heard what I wanted for my hair. She is very fun and friendly. She takes time to give me a greatest hair shampoo I ever got here in the US (some rubbing and massage), then talked all the way through the haircut to let me know what she is doing and why). I love my haircut! She listens and is good at what she does. I would recommend her to all my friends!!

Fantastic and friendly salon - excellent haircut...
George has been cutting my hair for 6-7 years, and I have never had better hair cuts. He has taken the time to get to know my hair, my life-style and me, and he cuts and styles my hair so there is virtually no way I can make it look bad. Even though I am blow-dryer and styling brush challenged, George's cut is so precise that even with my limited styling skills, I can blow-dry my hair each morning and make it my short, fine hair look stylish. I must say though, it has been helpful that George has given me tips on how to care for my hair including products and blow-drying and styling tips. He explains what and how he has cut/styled, and shows me how to use the styling brush and why the technique is important. All of this has helped to remediate my blow-drying and styling skills.

Great customer service, smart staff/ stylists, excellent color service
I love going to George Salon. The atmosphere is so comfortable; all the staff and stylists make you feel very relaxed. They are very professional, but not pretentious (like many North Shore salons). Anyway, I've gone to a few different stylists there and I have never had a bad experience. It's also nice that they offer a variety of price ranges (with different stylist levels) to meet every budget. I've gone to several different level stylists, and all have done a great job. I've been going here for the past few months to get back to blonde after dying my hair nearly black, and somehow they have nurtured it back to blonde without destroying my hair. Plus, they are very knowledgable about products for my hair- I am addicted to their Kerastase products! Oh, and they always have good music playing!

I went to George Salon as a new client recently, and I have to say I was very happy with my experience. Rafael cut my hair, and he was not only great, but also really fun and friendly. The environment was really relaxed and laid-back. I was there on a Thursday night, which they said were relatively slow, and I thought it was a cool and new experience that at one point everyone in the salon (including me and the other three customers that were there) were all engaged in the same conversation! Rafael cut my hair into a short, messy cut that ended up growing out really well. I got a lot of compliments, and I'm definitely going to go back and have him do my color. It only cost $45 for a cut and dry! They also gave me 10% off for being a student, and Rafael gave my a card for another 20% off for next time. I would definitely recommend this place!

The salon is actually under a new name...SALON LOTUS...It's all the same staff. I go to Northwestern so it's super convient that its located so close to campus. They have some really great specials going on right now so its totally budget friendly! I used to go to Olga (the waxer) when she worked there and she was not friendly and was always moving my appointment around,which was so annoying that i actually stopped going there for waxing. But i found out that they got a new girl so i tried her and she gave me a great Brazzillian! Her name is Sandra,she is so nice and has more hours availible which is so much better with my classes. I just really like it there the entire staff is so friendly.
